The 2009 Michigan Teaching for Learning Institute is designed to accelerate the achievement of all students through exploring educators’ beliefs and practice. Through examination of comprehensive sets of data and the current research on instructional practice, participants will analyze school and student performance to learn and apply strategies that will directly impact the teaching and learning process. The Institute will explicitly address the multiple risk factors of students in schools. School teams will define and plan the implementation of a system of instructional support that will align with their school improvement plan to accelerate the progress of every student.
Purpose: The purpose is to provide professional learning experiences and networking opportunities for educators to increase knowledge and deepen understanding, develop expertise, and provide practice designed to accelerate student achievement.
